THE HIGHLANDS - GROUP CABIN RETREAT

The Highlands campsite is one site of several containing antique cedar cabins that we preserved and carefully moved from another decommissioned Girl Scout Camp just 10 minutes down the road. These cabins were originally built in the 1940s on the grounds of Camp Pottawatomie Hills and we are thrilled to have been able to give them a second life here at our campground. The Highlands is the same site name where all the cabins were located for so many years, so we kept the name to continue to honor the rich history of these cabins. This group site sleeps up to 10 guests and includes a private fire pit, gas grill, two hammocks, and a sunshade. Inside the cabins, guests are provided with plush mattresses, air conditioning, electricity, a coffee maker and a refrigerator for the group. All our amenities are meant to make enjoying the outdoors just that much more comfortable!

TESTIMONIALS

“Just had a wonderful weekend at Camp Kettlewood!!
Stayed at the rustic site. Tucked in between trees and away from others (all sites are nicely private from each other), it was a nice spot for our family. Clean restrooms (I've never seen such clean restrooms on a campsite!) and refreshing open air showers were great especially because it was the first camping experience for our preschooler. Having access to water dedicated to our camp was a huge plus, too.
Owner said he wanted to create a campground without all the bad things about campgrounds (stranger tents right next to you, RV/tents mixed in small grounds, partiers annoying you, etc). Well done! We'll be back."
